Finally. It’s official. Been a true labor of love guiding this one to fruition over the last few months. Have long been obsessed by the process of filmmaking – thanks to a documentary on the making of The Empire Strikes Back (yes, that long ago!), and beyond thrilled to be working with one of the best filmmakers working today.
This particular project feels like the culmination of a journey that started over 9 years ago when, after a very successful career in HR focusing on culture and business transformation, I was offered the opportunity to pivot my career into a creative leadership role heading up content development for ITV Studios America. Culture + creativity go hand in hand. So many creative businesses (or businesses in general) fail to understand how to deal with creative people, the creative process, or how to create a culture that truly supports both. When given the opportunity to put my money where my mouth was, I jumped at it and moved to LA as head of creative.
Multiple sales + projects later, and having worked with and led some of the best content development teams around, this one project feels like an incredible moment to reflect on this journey. To my 8 year old self, who watched that doc – that sparked a whole creative journey – this one’s for you.
